Hey
I have a problem with my home theatre amp.
Its a Denon AVR-1707.
And it will turn on and play fine for about 30 sec, then it cuts out, and goes into protect mode.
I have checked the 2 main problems for this,
Getting to hot, and speaker wires touching, and it is none of these.
Just wondering if any one else has struck this problem before with a denon amp, and what the problem was. Or have any other ideas i can try, to see if it fixes it.
Cheers David

Nope, has never got to hot.
And also the first time it went into protect, was one morning, after it had been off all night.
Cheers

unplug all speakers from the back of the amp so there are no outputs being used and see if it still goes into protect

ok so that confirms its an internal amp problem not external x-over or speaker. you will probably need to take it to get repaired. still under warrenty?

Nope, unfortunatly its out of warrenty.
I have spoken to the Denon agents, and they said its probably going to be around $250 inc taking a look at it, to fix it.
I only paid $320 for the amp brand new, so i was just trying to fix it cheaper / by my self.
Was hoping for some more opions to try.
Cheers

Probably a bad cap or output device.
I don't touch 240v stuff otherwise I'd offer to prod around inside it for you.
